Who this policy covers

This policy explains how StarDost, referred to as "we", "us" or "our", handles information when you use the StarDost website and web app. It should be read together with our Terms of Use.

Information kept on your device

Your name, gender, date of birth, time of birth, place of birth, generated charts, questions and astrology responses are saved in your browser's local storage. This lets you continue without creating a StarDost account. We do not copy this journey into our operational database.

Anyone who can access your unlocked device or browser profile may be able to see this local information. Use your device security features and delete the journey before sharing or disposing of the device.

Optional Google Drive backup

If you choose Cloud Backup, your browser saves a private StarDost backup in Google Drive's application-data area. The backup can contain your local journey and the private wallet token used to recover your question balance. StarDost does not copy the backup into Supabase, and our app cannot browse your ordinary Drive files.

Google processes the connection and stored backup under your Google account settings and Google's own privacy terms. Disconnecting Google Drive stops future access but does not automatically delete an existing backup from your Drive account.

Information processed to provide the service

• Place suggestions: the place text you type is sent to Geoapify so matching locations and coordinates can be shown.
• Charts and responses: the birth inputs and question needed for a request are temporarily sent to our chart and AI providers. They are used to generate the requested result and are not added to our operational database.
• Security: we use rate limits and a protected hash derived from network information to reduce automated abuse. Hosting and security providers may also process technical request logs.

Payments and question balance

Razorpay handles UPI, card and other payment details. StarDost does not receive your complete card number, UPI PIN or banking password. We receive and retain operational records such as the Razorpay order and payment identifiers, amount, currency, payment status, purchase time and credits granted.

Supabase stores your authoritative question balance and a one-way hash of your private wallet token. These records do not contain your birth details, charts or chat text. Financial and fraud-prevention records may be retained where reasonably required for accounting, disputes and legal obligations.

Website measurement and advertising

When these tools are enabled, we use Amplitude to understand basic product steps and Meta to measure advertising results. Events may include page visits, selected language, onboarding-step names, feature clicks and verified purchase value. These providers may process browser, device and network identifiers under their own policies.

We do not send your name, birth details, place coordinates, questions, answers, chart data, Google Drive content or payment credentials to these measurement tools. Global Privacy Control and browser Do Not Track signals disable StarDost's measurement integrations.

Why we process information

• to provide place search, charts and requested responses;
• to process payments and maintain question credits;
• to secure the service and prevent automated misuse;
• to understand product performance and advertising results;
• to comply with legal, tax and dispute-resolution duties.

We ask for consent where applicable and limit processing to what is reasonably necessary for the stated purpose. You can stop using the service or withdraw an optional permission such as Google Drive access at any time.

Sharing and international processing

We use service providers only for defined functions such as hosting, location search, chart calculation, AI generation, payments, cloud backup, security and measurement. Some providers may process information outside India. We do not sell your birth details or chat content.

We may disclose limited information when required by law, to protect users and the service, or during a genuine business transfer subject to appropriate confidentiality and legal safeguards.

Deleting or correcting your information

You can edit birth details from your profile and use Delete Account in Settings to remove the StarDost journey from that browser. You can disconnect Google Drive separately. Payment, wallet and legal records may remain where required to protect your purchased balance or meet legal obligations.

To ask about access, correction, erasure, withdrawal of consent or a privacy grievance, contact us through developer@stardost.co.in. We may need the minimum payment or wallet information required to locate an operational record without asking for your astrology data.

Children

StarDost is intended for adults aged 18 or older. Do not submit a child's birth details or purchase the service for a child.

Security and policy updates

We use data minimisation, access controls, encryption in transit and server-side payment verification. No online service can guarantee absolute security. We may update this policy when the product, providers or law changes. The effective date above will be updated when changes are material.
